The Sick Bay / Medical Ward
Our sickbay has many of our residents who need
extra medical care. These residents are in a more tranquil environment where
they can heal and recover from whatever ails them.
This ward is for the isolation of childhood and other diseases, the care of
women who have been discharged from hospital and still need care, and any other
medical situation that is not life threatening.
Our social workers help with applications for ID documents and grants, as
well as other social interventions and counseling.
Medical Clinic
A medical clinic is now held once a week at Usindiso, in the sick bay/med
ward for the ladies in the ward and also for everyone in the shelter that may
need medical care. Dr Susan Black is a medical doctor from the USA, that has
volunteered her time and knowledge to give our residents the care that they
need.
